Baltiklaas has once again managed a great feat. We were responsible for producing the façade glass for the Laev project.

The project started last summer and ended with the onset of winter. What made the situation complicated was that we developed a need for additional glass (due to our old tempering glass kiln).

This job is sure to be remembered for the close cooperation between all parties to find the best solution.

The site used both Saint-Gobain’s new SKN144(II) bluish tinted solar protection glass, which is suitable for adorning the Laev building in particular. This is the first structure in Estonia to incorporate this glass. As the house is located on a heavily travelled thoroughfare, Paldiski mnt, the noise control aspect was very important. The noise-damping needs of the various sides and rooms in the building were considered. The thicknesses of the glazing and laminates in the glass units were selected accordingly. We believe this topic is becoming increasingly salient as our comfortable work and living environment largely depends on it.

The façade glass on the Laev building was installed by the diligent team from Malmerk Facades, with whom we have long had a good working relationship.

“From 1666, we began making mirrors as beautiful as those made in Venice and that supplied the whole of Europe and they were to become of a beauty and grandeur that has never been achieved elsewhere”
