Baltiklaas participated in polar bear enclosure improvements at Tallinn Zoo
Late last year the New Home for Polar Bears citizens’ initiative project was completed, aimed at building a modern living environment for the polar bears at Tallinn Zoo – the Polarium. Many companies took part in the project and we are pleased to confirm that the business unit of Baltiklaas was one of them.
The project was initiated in late 2016. We received the order with the final unit measurements at the end of January 2017. The units were installed at Tallinn Zoo’s Polarium (polar bear enclosure) to prevent fog and condensation forming on the glass surfaces. The measurements of the units were larger than those of typical heated units and that caused us some doubts at first, but Finnglass still approved the design. Despite the difficulties, the project has been completed and the polar bears have been enjoying their new home for several months now.
